Note: The prayers, blessings, and reflections I share here are not intended to promote any particular religion—or religion at all. While I belong to a Judeo-Christian faith community, my practice is rooted more in spirituality than dogma. For me, these words are a way of gently reframing anxiety into gratitude and seeking peace amid the chaos and self-judgment that so often accompany daily life.
I wrote this blessing at the end of a long day, when nothing felt finished and everything felt heavy.
It is a prayer for myself, and maybe for you too.
A Blessing for the Unfinished
May comfort find our weary souls
when we’ve worked all day
yet feel nothing was accomplished.
Grant us the grace to believe
that the smallest effort moves us forward.
Today's work was not in vain;
it was an investment in a journey to the finish.
Open our eyes to the quiet worth of what we did.
Help us celebrate progress in place of perfection.
Bless us with the serenity
to lay down the endless, imaginary to-do list
we review like a litany of shortcomings.
Grant us the courage
to let trust grow larger than worry,
and stronger than self-judgment,
so we may rest tonight
and wake tomorrow with renewed hope.
If this brought you a moment of peace, feel free to let me know.
